İstanbul-Ayasofya- ST Sophia Museum
The Hagia Sophia, which is a museum in the present day, was constructed during the time of the Trabzon Empire. The church, decorated with frescoes depicting scenes from Jesus’s life, has been converted into a mosque during the Ottoman period, and is preserved as a museum now.
The relief on the southern front of the museum is the most interesting part of the building depicting the creation of Adam and Eve. The interior of Hagia Sophia is decorated with a variety of reliefs depicting Jesus’ birth and baptism, the Day of Judgment and many other biblical scenes. The Saint Sophia Museum is one of the historical wonders of the Eastern Black Sea region.
