Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum; The construction of this first Turkish museum started in the 19th century within the confines of the Suleimaniye Mosque Complex. Focusing on the Turkish and Islamic arts, the collection consists of approximately 33,000 pieces, exemplifying each historic era. Among the few of its kind, the museum is also famous for its rich collection of rugs, and known as the Rug Museum. Rare pieces such as Seljuk rugs to the ones known in Europe as Holbein rugs are exhibited here.
